My Approach

My Frameworks

I use trauma-informed and culturally responsive frameworks, recognizing that addiction, chronic anxiety, post traumatic stress, and profound grief frequently co-occur with systemic oppression, stigma, and a deep shame.

The liberatory and relational lens I work from consider how your experiences are shaped not only by internal processes (thoughts, emotions), but also by environments, relationships, and systems.

My framework moves beyond pathologizing responses like avoidance, suppression, over-functioning, or substance use. Therapy with me includes normalizing ambivalence (change is hard) and emotional overwhelm (life can be really challenging and call for intense emotions). By centering autonomy, transparency, and collaboration, my goal is that we anchor your care in predictability and support.

Recovery is not just about new skills.

Recovery requires a space where your survival strategies are honored, context is recognized, and your humanity is centered.

Addressing the Intersections of Recovery

My practice is designed to support the whole person. Healing from the chronic challenges of identity-based stress, the weight of unaddressed or unresolved trauma, the cycle of substance use or addiction, or the isolation of grief, recovery requires more than just new skills.

By using an integrated biopsychosocial-spiritual lens, I address these intersections:

  • Biological: Prioritizing stabilization and nervous system safety

  • Psychological: Understanding thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

  • Social/Systemic: Navigating the impact of the environment, systemic oppression

  • Spiritual: Reclaiming a sense of meaning and purpose.
